The journey begins with the challenge of locating the trailhead amidst poorly labeled, potholed dirt roads—GPS is of little help in this rugged terrain. However, once on the well-marked path, the hike becomes a pleasant adventure, despite the persistent flies. As you progress, glimpses of the valley appear, but the full grandeur remains hidden until reaching Observation Point, three miles from the trailhead. The painting reflects the anticipation and beauty of this rewarding hike.
