Angora Handspun and Millspun by Daylilly B True Angoras
Please note that skein sizes change with every batch of handspun we receive. Photographs below are intended to show color and not necessarily skein or cake size. Sandra, of Daylilly B True Angoras in Windsor, just loves her rabbits, and loves hand- spinning their fiber too! She has a variety of breeds and collects their fiber by either shearing or brushing. The white and grey is 100% German angora; the tan is Satin. When angora is knitted, crocheted, or woven, it creates and incredibly warm fabric as well as a beautiful halo. Because of the loft of this fiber, it can be worked at a range of needle or hook sizes, as well worked alternately with another yarn. At this time, our handspun 100% angora skeins are 70 yards (approx. 1-1.3 ounce) and white. We consider them worsted weight. We also currently have a batch of millspun white. These skeins are 50% German angora and 50% merino. Each skein is 200 yards and weighs between 3-3.4 ounces. We consider it light worsted.
