Sanctuary, An Advent Devotional
Father God released His arrow—His only Son—and gave Him up to be the perfect, final sacrifice. He is intimately acquainted with the loss of a child. He is intimately acquainted with the release of what is most precious to us as our arrows are launched into the world for His glorious purpose. And Jesus, fully God and fully man, all-powerful and all-submissive, came in the most vulnerable of ways as an infant. Perfect Sacrifice. Jesus stepped into humanity as our sacrifice, to become our savior, so that we would have a place of safety. There is no sanctuary without the sacrifice of the Savior. When we accept the sacrifice of the Savior, we find sanctuary. Tell everyone—He is our sanctuary! This Christmas season be intentional about weeding out distractions that take away from decided worship of your Savior. Give your family the best gift you can by bringing the simplicity and security of Jesus. Advent is not about us filling our time full but rather about taking time to remember how God
