Unity: All Things in Christ, A Bible Study on Ephesians
As believers, we hear and read a lot about unity: unity in the body of Christ, in our marriages, our homes, communities, even as a nation. In a world of COVID and warring political parties, unity is spoken of in hushed tones (or shouts of protest) as a mythical grail—something we all ought to search for and elevate as the solution to every problem. If only we could all just get along, right? But it isn’t a kumbaya circle. It isn’t flashing the peace sign and saying, “live and let live.” The promise of unity can only be found in Christ through repentance, redemption, and righteousness. God will “gather together in one all things in Christ.” (Ephesians 1:10, KJV) We know the end of the story: every knee will bow, every tongue confess! (Isaiah 45:23, Romans 14:11) The division we feel inside, with our loved ones, and with strangers on the internet will not last forever! Finding this oneness is not a pipe dream, nor is it the undiscerning tolerance of the world. In His grace, God shows us
