Words Matter Bible Study
Words. We sure have a lot to say, don’t we? In our super-charged society of social media generals and political pundits, it can be easy to lose sight of the power our words carry. When we realize we’re the topic of neighborhood gossip, or when we accidentally overhear a friend spilling the tea about us—it hurts. If you’ve ever been hurt by a careless “whisper”— chances are good that you’ve also hurt someone with the same carelessness. In our world of careless whispers, it’s even easier to be boldly unkind on Facebook or TikTok. Things that we would never say out loud to a stranger in line at the bank can come tumbling out online without so much as a moment’s hesitation. Women, we can do better. (I’m talking to myself here!) I wonder what would happen if we remembered that we are ambassadors of the living God—and that as such, our words should reflect His heart, rather than bring dishonor to His name.
