All Over Red Heriz - 6'6 x 9'6

This Heriz rug was handwoven during the second quarter of the 20th century. It features an allover design of scrolling leaves in tones of navy,indigo, yellow, green, gold and ivory on a patinated red ground. All-over designs are less common on Heriz rugs which most often feature large central medallions. The main border is composed of alternating rosettes and palmettes utilizing the same tones as the field on a navy ground. In Very Good condition with very minimal wear considering it's age. Lush pile with a hefty handle.
