Antique Baluch Prayer Rug - 2'8 x 5'2
This Baluch prayer rug was handwoven during the mid 19th century in Western Afghanistan. This field is composed of a directional prayer niche with a tree-of-life central motif on a desirable camel ground. The mihrab is filled with an eight pointed star and the base of the rug has various botehs and a prominent animal head motif. Wonderfully finished with two hands on the top left and top right of the rug. In very good condition with minimal wear on the overall pile; uneven fringe and oxidized browns.
