Baluch Prayer Rug - 2'9 x 4'3
This Baluch prayer rug was handwoven during the early 20th century in Western Afghanistan. This field is composed of a directional prayer niche with a tree-of-life central motif that fills the camel mihrab. The same motif can be found on the two smaller trees flanking the top of the mihrab. Navy, earthy reds, oxidized brown, and ivory liven up the composition. In good condition with minimal wear on the overall pile with some heavier wear near the bottom with uneven fringe.
