Antique Karabagh Rug - 5'7 x 8'9
ON HOLD UNTIL 9/23/25 This Karabagh runner was woven in the south Caucasus by Armenians during the early 20th century. It features an all over large scale herati pattern in reds, pinks, purple, green yellow and ivory on a brownish/black ground. The dark ground has oxidized adding dimensionality to the piece. Framed by a main border of cabbage roses characteristic of this type and floral minor borders with highly contrasting abrash which adds significant interest to the composition In very good condition, some oxidation in the brown field. Pile is low with a soft handle.
