Antique Kagizman Kilim - 4'6 x 11'9
This Kagizman kilim was woven in Eastern Anatolia during the late 19th century. It features a repeat of multiple latch hooked devices and an abstracted carnation or butterfly form in dark brown and red on an appealing and rare white field. A wide border of figures with interlocking "tentacles" creates an interesting lesser-seen border design. The inner field is filled with a variety of protection symbols and the hand is very visible in an indentation in the patterning near the bottom of the rug adding some extra charm. In very good condition especially with its considerable age. A couple of areas of minor discoloration as pictured.
