Timuri Baluch Bagface - 2’7 x 2’10
This Baluch rug was handwoven during the second quarter of the 20th century in Afghanistan. It features a lattice design in blue, dusty pink, and mauve pink. Plush silky wool with a very dark but lustrous complexion. Framed by an alternating "S" with contrasting sawtooth borders and finished with multiple bands of detailed weft float kilim. Originally intended to be used as a bag, remnants of the goat hair enclosures still survive. In very good condition, signs of wear consistent with age. medium pile, with a loose but hefty handle.
