Sailing Away

This one of a kind piece is an elegant ring of glass from thin, colorful hand-cut strips arranged in a linear pattern. The varying random widths of glass when fired topple over and look like mini sails adrift on a foamy sea. The glass is fired in a kiln to 1400 degrees, which is hot enough to melt the pieces together while retaining an element of texture that catches the light. This piece blends an array of white, clear, aqua, red and purple colors.  A mix of transparent and opaque glass allows the light to transmit making the panel glow. Black coated custom stand included.
