Renaissance period marble statues 15th-16th Century. From the garden of a fine chateau in the south-west of France, belonging to a wealthy collector of the most rare and exceptional decorative arts. Statue of classically dressed woman holding a bird, with an “A” and less legible letters to the base. This statue represents the element “Air/Aria.” The male represents “Fire,” having “Foco” inscribed to the base and holding an urn of fire. Height, approximately without block, 43” x 16” w. x 11” d.
