Hope Vessel
White vessel with black engraved stars. I made this quartet of vases in November of 2024, the week that it felt most everyone was in mourning. I sat at my work and watched the concession speech with the women I work alongside and we all cried in silence. It was a moment of really seeing what was lost, and intense, dark fear of what was to come. I envisioned and made the black vases that afternoon, with the stars, which if you watched the speech you’ll remember the significance of. Several days later I chose to make the brighter partners, to signify the hope that I was trying so fiercely to hold onto. I really wasn’t planning to sell any of them, or was sort of hoping they wouldn’t. But I also want them to find homes with people who believe in the hope, and need it now too. Proceeds from this vessel will go to Sierra Club San Diego
