  Checkerbloom, Dwarf Checkermallow: West coast and CA native spring to summer blooming perennial found in meadows and grasslands. Large fuchsia-pink blooms on upright stems to 4’ tall. The 'Purpuretta' form is a deeper pink color than the usual type. Glossy, roundish foliage. Good for cut flowers. Attracts hummingbirds, birds, butterflies and pollinator favorite. Full sun to part shade. Low to medium water.  Seacoast, clay, sand, and drought tolerant once established. Deer, rabbit, gopher and fire resistant
