ABOUT THE ARTIST Michael Steele lives and works in Melbourne, Australia. After studying and pursuing a career in graphic design, the overshadowing need to create art took over and Michael left the design industry to pursue a career as an artist.  Michael's paintings have appeared in numerous exhibitions and group shows both locally and internationally, and his work has been featured in such publications as Empty Magazine, Semi-Permanent and Wooden Toy Quarterly. "Within my artwork I have incorporated a diverse range of themes and influences, combined to form a visual representation of how I see the world around me. There you can find a wide range of visual icons from both my past and present, referencing advertising, the  emergence of graffiti art, computer gaming culture past and present, the internet phenomenon and the evolution of a multicultural consumer society."
