Artichoke, Wonder

A great big artichoke that can be grown as an annual. We can expect good 5 inch wide artichokes on these wonderful artichokes. They don’t have much in the way of spines making them a very comfortable (if large) addition to your garden. Artichoke: Artichokes are usually grown for their edible flowers buds or you can harvest and steam their young leaves. Usually a perennial in mediterranean climates where they were first domesticated, we do have a couple varieties that are bred to produce heads in their first year. Growing Tips: Artichokes grow big! They will get to be a good 4 to 6 feet tall and easily 2 to 3 feet wide so give them plenty of space in the garden. They also want plenty of hot, dry sun so don’t skimp on the sunlight for these guys.
