Honey Brook Try Square
When dimensioning stock, the try square is one of the most fundamental tools in the woodworker's tool kit. I make the Honey Brook Try Square by hand and with precision using premium domestic and exotic hardwoods. The Honey Brook Try Square features: A 5/8" thick stock (or handle) in your choice of several different domestic and exotic hardwoods. A 1/8" thick, 6" long blade** made with quartersawn maple that is mortised and glued into the stock and then mechanically secured with three 1/8" brass pins. The quartersawn maple ensures the stability of the blade and will not mar the surface of your workpiece when in use. As with all of my Honey Brook Tools, each try square is finished with hand-rubbed shellac and wax. Some may ask, "Why not use a metal blade?" I have nothing against them, I just prefer the traditional look and feel of an all-wooden try square, a tool that has been used for centuries! After inspection, I hand-stamp each try square with my maker's mark prior to delivery. I
