Honey Brook Sliding Bevel Gauge
I've modeled the Honey Brook Sliding Bevel Gauge after the classic design common among early New England toolmakers. An important layout tool to a well-stocked woodworker's kit, the sliding bevel gauge can serve a variety of functions such as dovetail layout, transfer of irregular angles within a particular project, and as a guide for drilling at an angle in, for example, chair making. The Honey Brook Sliding Bevel Gauge features: Custom brass thumbscrews made in the style of those found on early New England made sliding bevels. I make each thumbscrew on my metal lathe and manual milling machine. The rear brass fitting at the tip of the handle is tapped to receive the thumbscrew. A handle made in your choice from a variety of domestic and exotic hardwoods. Highly polished brass fittings to complement the wood of your choice A 9" polished steel bevel blade. Like all the other tools in my inventory, I make each of these bevel gauges myself. After inspection, I stamp each bevel gauge
