Description The Yellowfin Tuna (Thunnus albacares) a.k.a. "Yellowfin" or Ahi is a pelagic saltwater gamefish known for their delectable traits aswell as their strength, speed and fighting nature. The second dorsal and anal fins of a Yellowfin Tuna can be very long in mature specimens, reaching almost as far back as the tail and giving the appearance of sickles or scimitars. Yellowfin tuna prey include other fish, pelagic crustaceans, and squid. Like all tunas, their body shape is particularly adapted for speed, enabling them to pursue and capture fast-moving baitfish such as flying fish, sauries, poagies and mackerel. Famed in the Offshore Sportfishing World, yellowfin tuna are among many of the prize fish caught on a day in the deep blue. Although scientific and oceanic research has concluded that our numbers of Yellowfin Tuna populations are in great decline due to over commercial fishing pressures in oceans afar, the yellowfin tuna is still famous to our recreational fishing fl
