The AP Lounge Chair was designed by Aditya Prakash, a late Indian modernist architect who worked at the Chandigarh Capital Office alongside Pierre Jeanneret and others designing furniture for the Chandigarh project in the 1950s.  It is a chair design studied and re-editioned as a tribute to the late Indian modernist architect's forays into furniture making. Phantom Hands has developed two earlier designs in collaboration with his son and eminent architectural historian Vikramaditya Prakash, upgrading them structurally and materially, but carefully holding onto their aesthetic legacy. The final result is furniture that is both historically rooted and staunchly contemporary. Aditya Prakash created the original versions of these lounge chairs for his own home.
