Tasting Notes:After taking a natural disaster induced gap year, our favorite sidekick is back! The 2021 Hunter Glenn Cabernet Franc is looking dapper in its crimson smoking jacket. At first, the aromatics of macerated strawberries are undeniable, followed by balsamic glaze and an interesting hint of brown butter and smoky salt. On the palate the wine gently lets you know it’s Cabernet Franc with those ripe strawberries and the lightest hint of cassis and parsley. The finish is enveloping and comforting, like a hug you don’t want to end. No doubt this is a wine to share or hide in the back of the wine fridge, but when you open it, splurge for the dry-aged cut.
