Black Neon Tetra (Hyphessobrycon herbertaxelrodi)
Remarks: Black Neon Tetras (Hyphessobrycon herbertaxelrodi) are common in the hobby due to their easy reproduction mechanisms and relative robustness for their size. They sport a black stripe through the middle of their body with a bright blue-green stripe just above it. This stripe will shimmer in the light, making them an excellent fish to watch with floating plants filtering some of the bright light. They are shoaling fish and prefer to be in group of 6 or more. Tetras may be nippy towards fish with long fins, such as Bettas or Angelfish.
