Remarks: Otopharynx tetrastigma males can appear similar to Tramitichromis intermedius or Lethrinops intermedius and were likely once considered the same fish. They are pit-spawners and males will attract females to a depression they create in the sand. They are also known to dive into the sand to avoid being caught!
