Yellow Blaze "German" (Otopharynx lithobates)
Remarks: Yellow Blaze (Otopharynx lithobates) are a beautiful Malawi Hap that exhibit long, pointed bodies with three black spots on their flanks. Males turn deep blue and begin to show their signature "blaze" from their nose to the back of their dorsal fin around 3" long. Females remain mostly gray but can show some blue tint. They typically inhabit caves, while females forage for food in the rocky surroundings. This strain has been line-bred and/or hybridized to produce a darker blue body, a thicker blaze that travels onto the back of the fish, and a gradient from the orange blaze through pink and purple until finally arriving at the navy belly.
