Antique General Store Counter

Rustic oak mercantile counter with what appears to be pine trim along the bottom. This piece features rectangular inlaid parquetry that is further recessed by the wainscoting flocking all sides of the panels. The top counter, due to it being the most "high-traffic" area, exhibits more fading than the rest of the piece, giving it a cozy and patinated look; the bottom trim is also quite worn, likely due to shoe scuffs. Along the panels are some lighter scuffs that appear to only affect the stain and not the actual wood. The back side of this piece exhibits a bit more wear due to it being the "business" side of the counter; the drawers and unfinished cubbies have moderate scuffs consistent with heavy use.
