The hidden meaning of the symbol is the connection of two kayaking families - Hilgert and Kostal. Zdenek Kostal and Lubos Hilgert were pioneers of canoe slalom in the former Czechoslovakia (Lubos on the right / Zdenek on the left). The two became friends and rivals at the time.
