About the Photoshoot Sunrise at Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon in winter is a spectacle that never fails to mesmerize. Jokulsarlon is one of my favorite locations to shoot, with its glacier-covered mountains in the background, everchanging icebergs, and the serene reflections on the lake's surface creating a photographer's paradise. However, the beauty of this place is matched by its unpredictability. This particular shoot was blessed with burning red clouds and mists hovering over the lake, adding a sense of mystique to the already enchanting scene. In an environment like Iceland’s, preparation is key; hours are often spent finding the right composition. Yet, nature is ever-changing, and light, one of the most critical elements in photography, can shift in an instant. When the right lighting came, I had to move fast, angling the camera just right to capture the perfect balance between the warm colors of the clouds and the cool tones of the ice and the lake.
