About the Photoshoot The Highland oases of Iceland are enchanting sites where vibrant colors and life emerge amidst a stark landscape of black ash and white snow. These oases, formed by geothermal activity and glacial waters, showcase the transformative power of fire and ice in creating breathtaking natural beauty. As a photographer, I was drawn to these contrasting elements, aiming to capture their vibrant essence. To achieve this, I organized a helicopter shoot during a late summer evening when the Midnight Sun cast its magical hues across the sky. The conditions were perfect, with just enough clouds to capture the light without obstructing it, painting the sky in shades of pink and orange. During our aerial journey across the Highlands, a verdant green hill beside a striking blue crater lake caught my eye. After directing the pilot towards it, I spent several hours shooting to achieve the right height, angle, and conditions. The resulting image is a perfect reflection of my vision:
