The Eye of the Earth
About the Photoshoot "The Eye of the Earth" is an aerial photograph that captures the surreal beauty of the Graenihver geothermal pool, located in the Hveravellir geothermal area of Iceland. This region, accessible only through the challenging Kjolur highland road, offers some of the most untouched and pristine landscapes in the country. The journey to reach this location is an adventure, traversing the highlands' barren expanses, which are flanked by the massive Langjokull and Hofsjokull glaciers. The isolation of this area creates a perfect environment for capturing the raw, untamed beauty of Iceland. During the photoshoot, the emerald green waters of Graenihver stood out vividly against the surrounding landscape, a beacon of color amidst the highland’s muted tones. Capturing this scene from above allowed me to emphasize the pool’s striking coloration and the intricate patterns formed by the geothermal activity. The result is a piece that looks almost abstract, with the geothermal po
