About the Photoshoot "The Gates to Highlands" was a product of patience, luck, and a touch of Icelandic magic. On this helicopter journey over Iceland’s central Highlands, I was eager to capture the vibrant green moss that thrives in this otherwise inhospitable world of black sand deserts, ominous clouds, and jagged peaks. This remote region is where the raw beauty of Iceland truly reveals itself—a place where nature is untamed, and the landscapes seem to belong to another world. As we flew over the rugged terrain, I focused on the stark contrasts in the landscape: the dark volcanic sands, the sharp mountain ridges, and the patches of moss that seemed to glow under the intermittent sunlight. My goal was to capture these elements in harmony, but little did I know that nature had an extraordinary gift waiting for me.
