"Disco" Print

Artist's Note: The allure of Austin, Texas has always been the 'weirdness' of the city. While the city evolves, one place that has kept it's old Austin charm is Playland Skate Center. A sparkling mirrored revolving roller skate hangs in the center of a chorus of humans, young and old, gliding across the wooden rink while curated beats play over the speaker. The atmosphere is electric as an undercurrent of energy flows through your skates and skilled skaters show off their talents around you. This "Disco" painting is the first of a series of three retro painting that honors the nostalgia felt in Austin locales.
