Washington, New HampshirePainted in 2013Often, when folks mention James Niehues, they’ll introduce him as “the artist that drew all the ski resorts” and while Niehues did paint a lot of ski resorts, that’s not all he painted. He has also has done many paintings and maps of backcountry ski areas, as well as National Parks and monuments. So, while Tuckerman Ravine, or “Tuck’s” as locals like to call it doesn’t have a lodge, a base area, or any lifts, it’s still portrayed in a classic and beautiful Niehues ski map painting, with all of its iconic skiable lines on display.
