Beginning Bossa Nova Guitar, Jean Chaumont, Thursday, 3:20-4:50pm

This course will meet weekly on Thursdays, running April 10th through June 12th. Performances are being held on June 12-14th.  Award winning guitarist and composer Jean Chaumont leads this 10-week course/ensemble hybrid which focuses on the basics of Brazilian bossa nova guitar techniques and traditions. Class focus will be on typical bossa nova chord voicings, rhythmic techniques, right hand patterns, and repertoire. This class is not structured as a combo but rather an educational experience focused on individual improvement. Homework:  Recommended homework and practice schedule will vary from week to week. Instructor will provide weekly homework assignments and give feedback on student work throughout the quarter. Students requirements: Regular attendance is critical for maximizing learning in online classes. Regular practice and study outside of class increases knowledge retention, builds skills faster, and promotes integration of skills into student performance. This is a 10 week
