Size: 12x6 // framed What is important about this new work? What inspired it? What holds it all together? I think about these questions not so much while I paint, but in the days and weeks after as I process the work. What happened here? What was I trying to achieve as I sifted through the mess. The answer this time, is I took a breath. As we return to a more normal life. As friends begin to gather. As I dared to explore and adventure in a way that I could not in the previous year. I took a deep breath. I felt the lightness returning and these paintings capture that moment. Notice the movement, the floating shapes, the lightness that moves through them.
