Leaves are large and frilly. The leaves have a vibrant green color with purple/hot pink veins and a white stem at the base. I like to harvest the baby greens because they have a more mild/savory flavor which is great for salad greens. Mature leaves have a more pronounced peppery flavor, and the main stem gets thicker and crunchier making it better for stir-frys. This is a great option for warmer climates because it is very slow to bolt.
