I am always looking for alternative greens that perform well during the summer in my hot and humid Florida garden. This one grows great and the plant is larger in size than traditional spinach. It also goes by the names Botany Bay Spinach, Cook's cabbage, Kokihi, sea spinach, Warrigal Greens and Warrigal Cabbage. It is a perennial green in warmer climates where it does not get cold enough to kill the plant. It is a low growing plant which is a great choice for planting beneath taller veggie crops and flowers.
