Pine Cathedral Necklace with Grey Star Sapphire

This gorgeous, sparkly, one-of-a-kind grey star sapphire necklace was inspired by my walks through the riverside woods near my home: the way some pines arch over an opening for a view of the river; a bird is bursting out from the canopy, its wings startling the silence. To create this piece, I first draw the design on recycled sterling silver sheet before drilling a teeny hole or holes into it and inserting the world's smallest saw blade. I am then able to cut out my illustration using a jeweler's saw. I finish the pendant by filing and sanding it, so that it has a satiny-smooth, rustic-looking finish.
