Blocked Joy | 20" x 20"

Sometimes we experience conflicting waves of emotion, and we can recognize that they are present, but something is still blocking us from fully enjoying and experiencing those emotions. The block itself, can even seem enticing, as with the gilded edge of this painting block of textured wax. This painting was created for my "Rainbow Waves" solo show and was original displayed at Central Bank of Boone County. The show explored the dual ideas of rainbows as a representation of the joy of triumph over dark times, and waves as a representation of the relentless challenges we must navigate in life.  Blocked Joy is 20"x 20" and is wired for hanging.
