Charlie Mitchell was born on November 24, 1861 in Birmingham, England. He was a heavyweight contender in the 1870's and 1880's and fought Jake Kilrain, John L. Sullivan, and Jim Corbett during his career. Presented here is antique photo of Mitchell.This antique photo measures 5 3/4 inches by 7 1/2 inches.The photo has some edge nicks and a crease in the lower right corner.The upper left hand corner is starting to peel from the backing.There is a crease on the bottom edge.The back has writing in pencil and a partial sticker.The name T. Webster is written in ink at the bottom.The image is somewhat faded.
