An opal glass shade is surrounded by a brass frame adorned with 35 (!) individual prismatic flowers that reflect the light in a wonderful way. Such a rare and beautiful lamp! 28.75" H x 12.7" Diameter Lisa-Johansson-Pape (b. 1907 d. 1989): "I have a background in furniture design, but necessity forced me to venture into lamp design during the war," she explained. Her unique style reflects a delicate equilibrium between sleek aesthetics and a commitment to practicality and utility. Johansson-Pape, a versatile engineer and designer, carved out spaces for women across various industries. She engaged in numerous prominent collaborations, notably with the glassblowers of Iittala during the 1950s, where she conceived acclaimed lighting fixtures for public venues like the Helsinki Children’s Hospital.
