Get smart! TacTix was invented by Piet Hein in 1942, a Danish poet who was also well known for dabbling in mathematics and science. The game has deep strategy, sharp tactics and a profound mathematical underpinning related to the Brouwer fixed-point theorem. The game was first marketed as a board game in Denmark under the name Con-tac-tix.  Manufactured and marked by Skjøde, Skjern. Solid Teak with black & white wooden pegs in their original leather sachets. 1968. 22.75" L x 13.25" W x 1" H Artist: Piet Hein (1905-1996) - architect, mathematician, poet. He mastered it all and made Danish cultural life a little richer, a little prettier and a little more witty with his trademark line, his square head and his quirky language. A rare ability to bring poetry, geometry and design together in a harmonious design, where function and art is weighted equally.
