Antique Sterling 7 1/4" Scissor Sheath B1793 Art Nouveau Gorham FGF Monogram Antique Gorham Scissor sheaths. No scissors unfortunately, just the sheath for them. I am unsure what to make of the design. The top appears to have a God like figure reminiscent of a mayan type design, the bottom of these appears to have a cherub or woman, all done in the style of the aesthetic movement. It is an interesting pattern, and do wish I have the shears that went with this. Sheath has the lion, anchor and letter G. If I am reading the code correctly, it would date this to 1874. Measures 7 1/4" long. Weighs as pictured 71.2 grams. Tapers down naturally. Measures at the opening about 16.24mm wide x 9.1mm ID. 3 touch marks, sterling and a code B1793. I was able to find a complete set - the scissors in the matched set carried the Gorham number B1193. The sheath is monogrammed with what looks like FGF. Price is pretty firm.
