Sha'lak'o is messenger from the Rain Gods, central to Zuni Pueblo culture. Once a year an important religious ceremony takes place in which Sha'lak'o makes an appearance. This miniature cottonwood carving by Adrian Leon beautifully captures the spirit of Sha'lak'o who stands ten feet tall in real life. Carved cottonwood is decorated with colorful acrylics, pipe cleaner, feathers and embroidery thread. Including base, measurements are about 3" tall, 1 1/4" wide and 1 1/4" deep. Signed by the artist.
