Suburito in Grade L5 Wood The suburito is a specialized bokken used for development of Japanese sword skills via solo practice. While it's heavy, with a pronounced forward balance, this large wooden practice sword isn't primarily intended for muscle development: through repeated suburi cuts, the user becomes fatigued and when arm strength fails, is forced into better body and hip placement, the true source of power. This suburito is all red Appalachian hickory - it has some superficial drying checks (too small to be photographed that would not affect performance in any way (even if it were used for paired practice!). It weighs 2lb 7oz. Tsuka length is 12" and perfectly elliptical with a subtle hourglass shape for a superb directional feel and comfort in the hands.
