Inscription reads "kami hitoe" - closeness of opposites (thinness of one sheet of paper ) Set includes tanto (not an antique but a modern carbon steel weapon of good quality) and a yawara baton of persimmon, an indigenous wood of the United States related to ebony, and known for its superior shock strength, apparently stained black.
