Blue Over Blue (Moonlight Surf)

2022-2023 Media: Cold wax, oils, charcoal, marble dust, and dry pigment Substrate: cradled birch panel prepared with acrylic gesso and acrylic medium Dimensions: 16in x 16in x 1 5/8in   What am I looking at?  The blue areas of this painting contain a very wide variety of different tones - blues, greys, pinks, purples, yellows, greens, and browns. The texture created by the layering of the different colors combines with the texture of the surface, and there are swirls and whorls of pattern. The lighter blue area at the top has colors that play against the darker blues in the bottom.
