These rare pair are topped off with Venetian millefiori glass beads that came to Kutch between the 16th- 20th centuries. Not from Italy directly but from East Africa where they were highly valued for their complexity and beauty and accepted as token money, from Europeans, in exchange for goods, services, and slaves.
