Leaves (growing up to 2-5 inches) have three main triangular lobes with toothed edges and pointed tips. Dense red flowers appear in late March to early April (before the leaves). New growth leaves, leaf stems, branches, flowers, fruit, and autumn colors are all red or tinged with red. The crown is round to oval, highly cold-resistant. It thrives in moist, slightly acidic, well-draining soil, in areas with plenty of sunlight to partial shade.
