Air Afrique was a Pan-African airline that was founded in 1961 as a joint venture between eleven West African countries. The airline was extremely special. It represented a dream of African unity. Despite being dissolved in 2002, its identity and impact is still felt today throughout the world of aviation and beyond.  Air Afrique was one of the first airlines to provide air transportation services to the African continent. Prior to its establishment, air travel in Africa was limited and expensive. One of its core principles was to make air travel more accessible and affordable for people living in West Africa, thereby promoting economic development and regional integration.
